Showers take more daily abuse than any other surface in the house. Hard water across the Santa Clarita Valley leaves mineral deposits, grout darkens, and fiberglass and cultured-marble pans go dull, yellow and rough. Shower reglazing seals the whole enclosure under a fresh, non-porous finish that cleans with a wipe.
Our shower refinishing covers everything inside the enclosure: the pan or base, the walls, built-in shelves and seats, and the surrounding tile. The result is a seamless, bright shower that looks newly installed.
Shower surfaces we reglaze
- Shower pans and bases. Fiberglass, acrylic, cultured marble and tile pans, including cracked or spider-cracked floors.
- Shower stalls. One-piece and multi-piece fiberglass or acrylic stalls. See fiberglass enclosure reglazing.
- Tile shower walls. Ceramic and porcelain tile with stained or crumbling grout. See tile wall reglazing.
- Cultured marble surrounds. Common in Valencia and Stevenson Ranch homes from the 1990s and 2000s. Yellowed panels come back bright white.
- Tub and shower combos. Tub and surround reglazed together for one uniform finish. See bathtub reglazing.
What shower reglazing fixes
- Yellowed, stained or chalky shower pans
- Hairline and spider cracks in fiberglass floors
- Moldy, discolored or missing grout lines
- Dated tile colors and patterns
- Rough, hard-to-clean textures and soap-scum buildup
- Slippery floors, with our optional slip-resistant finish
Our shower reglazing process
- Inspect and repairCracks in the pan are reinforced and filled. Loose grout and damaged tile are repaired so the base is sound.
- Strip and prepOld caulk, silicone and mineral deposits are removed. The surface is chemically and mechanically prepped for a permanent bond. The bathroom is masked and ventilated.
- Prime and refinishA bonding primer and multiple coats of a durable, moisture-resistant topcoat are sprayed on for a seamless finish. Slip-resistant texture is added to the floor on request.
- Cure and re-caulkWe re-caulk the corners and fixtures and leave the shower clean. It's ready to use in 24 to 48 hours.
Shower pans, stalls and surrounds we reglaze are covered for 2 years against peeling, bubbling and bonding failure.
Shower reglazing vs. a shower remodel
Replacing a shower in Santa Clarita means demolition, waterproofing, new tile or a new unit, plumbing, inspections and a week or more without a shower. That is routinely $5,000 to $15,000. Reglazing gives you a clean, bright shower in one day for a small fraction of the cost.
